Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at staceyssugaringandskincare@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

  • Hair needs to be at least the size of a half of a grain of rice to be removed.

  • Exfoliate 2-3 times a week, avoiding the day of the service. A sugar/salt scrub or an exfoliating glove is recommended, I prefer dry brushing. This is very important when preparing for your first sugaring appointment.

  • Moisturize daily using a light, fragrance-free moisturizer. Avoid using an oil-based moisturizer the day of service.

  • Avoid tanning the area to be sugared 48 hrs prior.

  • Avoid stimulants such as caffeine before your service.

  • Foods that are rich in potassium or taking ibuprofen before your service can help alleviate pain.

  • If you are using any kind of prescription medications in the area to be sugared it may be a contraindication. Accutane clients may not be sugared.

  • If you are pregnant, you may be more sensitive to the service.

Yes is the short answer. The first Brazilian is usually the worst. Pain tolerance differs from person to person. Expect a little discomfort your first time. It gets easier as you continue to sugar.

  • No tanning, saunas, or steam room for 24 hours following the service

  • Do not use harsh products in the areas that were sugared.

  • Moisture the area that was sugared after you take a shower following your appointment. (24 hours after). Moisturize the area daily. NO COCONUT OIL!

  • Avoid sexual activity (bikini, extended bikini, partial Brazilian, Brazilian) for 24 hours.

  • Wear loose clothing

  • Exfoliate the area 2-3 times a week, three days after your sugaring service, using a  scrub or an exfoliating glove/ brush.  I recommend daily dry brushing.

  • Schedule your next appointment in 4-6 weeks. If this is your first time or has been a while, the first three appointments are essential. Six weeks between appointments should be the max.

  • Exfoliating is essential after any sugaring service. Exfoliating helps to slough off dead skin cells and helps to prevent ingrown hairs. Remember, your hair follicles are empty after sugaring if your are not exfoliating, dead skin cells can get into the hair follicle and build up. When the hair tries to regrow, it becomes trapped...Resulting in ingrown hairs, inflammation, and possibly scarring

  • Moisturing is also essential. The hair allows sebum (oil) to flow onto the surface of the skin. When hair is removed, the sebum cannot make its way onto the surface of the skin as easily. Moisturizing helps replenish the moisture in the skin, hydrate, and nourish the hair follicles (allows hair to slide out easier when removed) and results in less pain when the hair is sugared.

Yes you can! This is a personal preference. If you don't feel comfortable you may reschedule. If you are ok getting sugared on your cycle please have a tampon/cup in.
